REACH GUWAHATI, DRIVE TO BOMDILA VIA BHAIRABKUND: We will receive you from the Guwahati Airport and drive to Bomdila. Bomdila is one of the two major stopovers on the Tawang circuit. It is set amongst the mighty Himalayas at an altitude of 2,530 m. The weather in Bomdila is alpine. The summers are short and mild, while the winters are cold. This small town is perched amongst the panoramic settings of the lofty ranges of the eastern Himalayas. It is known for its scenic beauty along with its Buddhist monasteries and apple orchids. On way to Bomdila we will stop by Bhairabkund which is in the Assam Arunachal and Bhutan tri-junction. We will also visit the Chillipam Gompa in Rupa. After reaching Bomdila, we will check in to your homestay in Bomdila. You can take a short walk to the Bomdila Market in the evening.
Waterfalls Visit
DRIVE TO TAWANG: After Breakfast, we will drive to Tawang. On our way to Tawang, we will stop by the Sela Pass, Jaswantgarh Memorial and Jung Waterfall. Check in to your homestay in Tawang.
Lake Visit
BUMLA AND MADHURI LAKE TOUR: Today after breakfast, we will go for a day trip to the Madhuri Lake and the Indo-China border in Bumla Pass.
Sight Seeing
TAWANG SIGHTSEEING, DRIVE TO DIRANG: We will spend the entire day seeing various places in and around Tawang. Tawang was historically a part of Tibet, it is inhabited by the Monpa tribals. The epicentre of Tawang, the Tawang Monastery was founded in 1681 by Lodre Gyatso under the guidance of the 5th Dalai Lama. Interestingly, the 6th Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso, was born in Tawang. The Tawang Monastery belongs to the Gelugpa sect and is the largest Buddhist monastery in India and is the largest Buddhist monastery in the world outside Lhasa. The region is heavily fortified due to its political importance to both India and China. On your trip to Tawang you will see military camps and bunkers all your way. The closer you get to the town the more military presence you feel. The region is not just historically and culturally rich; the natural landscape is a treat to the eyes of any spectator. The landscape surrounding the town together with Buddhist chants in the air is very fascinating and can give you a spiritual orgasm. The various places in Tawang includes the Tawang Monastery, Ani Gompa, Birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama, Gautam Buddha’s Statues, the War cemetery. After sightseeing, we will drive to Dirang for our stay. On our way to Dirang, we will visit the hot spring. In the evening, we will visit the Dirang Monastery if time permits.
Hiking
HIKE IN SANGTI VALLEY: Today after breakfast, we will go for a hike in Sangti valley. The valley is rich with roaring rivers and rivulets, deep gorges apart from beautiful flora and fauna along with cozy hills, cultivated fields, Pine trees and Kiwi gardens.
Wildlife Spotting
DRIVE TO POBITORA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY: After breakfast, we will drive to Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary for spotting Rhinos. Our stay will be in a hotel.
Transfer
After Breakfast, we will go for Safari (optional). After some time, we will drive to Guwahati and drop you at the Guwahati Airport for your onward journey.
